Every day, thousands of people leave their countries of origin to reach the United States in search of the so-called “American dream” and, although most of the time they are detained by border authorities, Espinoza Paz reveals that he the opposite happened to him.
In an interview with Yordi Rosado, the singer recalled that there were three times he had to cross the border as an undocumented person, the last being when his mother died, and he pointed out that in That time an officer was the one who made it reach the other side.
“They left my sister and me with a man we didn’t know and my dad was waiting for us on the other side of the tunnel. We arrived at a checkpoint and the migra asked us about our papers and about our mother and we burst into tears because she had just died. Then the police officer suddenly says “I don’t know why I’m doing this, but go now” and let us cross,” said Espinoza.
Likewise, the interpreter of “El Próximo” spoke of other moments important aspects of his life, such as when he was able to buy a house that he had dreamed of since he was a child, since he pointed out that in his childhood he had many economic deficiencies.
