A winner of the North Carolina Lottery did not want to take off her ticket with a prize of $1 million dollars neither to go to the bathroom nor to sleep. The woman, named Sabrina Bottoms, said she couldn’t believe she won.
Bottoms, who works in a grocery store, bought the winning ticket after finishing her weekly routine. And it is that, every week, he plays the lottery and fills his gas tank, according to lottery officials said in a September 10 statement.
This time, Bottoms stopped at the Park N Shop in the city of Conway, approximately 110 miles to the northeast of Raleigh. While she was in the store, she spent $10 dollars on an instant ticket to the scratch-off game, called ‘Hamilton’. Bottoms was in his car when he scratched off the ticket.
“ I had to get someone else to check the ticket,” Bottoms said, according to The News & Observer.
After finding out she was the jackpot winner, she didn’t let go of the scratch-off at all.
“The ticket went where I went, even to the bathroom and to sleep”, he said.
Bottoms eventually cashed in the prize, the highest ever won in the Hamilton game. She decided to collect the money in a single balloon payment of $426 thousand dollars, which totaled $426,063 dollars after paying required state and federal taxes.
Bottoms, a Northampton County resident, said she wants to invest the extra money in a “dream house”, according to the authorities.
