A person who had just been arrested died after suffering a medical episode inside a Brooklyn police precinct.
The New York police reported that the event happened just after 7 : 15 Thursday pm at the 72 Sunset Park Police Station.
The case began when the NYPD responded to a call to 911 about a knife dispute in the area of 15 th St. and 3rd Ave shortly before 6 pm An 40 year old individual told police that two men had approached him. One pulled out a knife and demanded money; both then fled.
Officers encountered two men who They fit the description and were placed under arrest. Just after 6: 30 pm EMS paramedics were called to the police station because one of the detainees was acting erratically, but the suspect refused medical attention .
About an hour later, officers found the man unconscious. EMS was called back and began CPR, Narcan and life-saving techniques, Fox News reported.
He was rushed to NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn, but died. The forensic doctor had yet to determine the cause of death while the police investigation was ongoing. The identity of the deceased detainee was not immediately revealed.
In a similar case, two nights earlier a young ex-convict for sexual crimes died in a psychiatric center in Brooklyn (NYC) on Tuesday, apparently in a fight with another patient.
That same day a Hispanic prisoner died after jumping into the East River escaping from the “Vernon C. Bain Center” floating prison in the Bronx (NYC). His death is the 15 in the custody of the City Department of Corrections (DOC) this year.
