Rafael Nadal will make his fatherhood debut this October or, at the latest, in November, according to sources close to him in conversation with the Diario de Mallorca. This medium reported, at the time, that Mery Perelló, the tennis player’s wife, had had to be admitted to the hospital due to minor complications in her pregnancy process, which required surgical intervention. To this day, Mery remains in complete rest.
The magazine Hello! has now revealed that the baby the couple is expecting will be a boy, although the Nadal family prefers not to comment on this matter at all. However, yesterday, Tuesday, the sister of the manacorí, Maribel Nadal, who attended an award ceremony on behalf of the tennis player’s foundation presided over by Queen Letizia, was approached in the middle of the street by reporters who wanted to know more details about the moment so Nadal and Mery, also known as Xisca, live among their loved ones.
Maribel did not want to enter the game, but confirmed that the two lovers are “very well” in the final stage of pregnancy. With a broad smile, the board limited itself to confirming that everything is going according to plan, and that the whole family is very excited about the imminent arrival of the new member of the clan.
Nadal himself acknowledged, after being eliminated in the round of 16 of the US Open , who had gone through a period of great nervousness, being so far away from his wife during his stay at the medical center, and who needed to fully focus on such an important stage in his personal and family life.
That did not prevent, however, that the Spaniard went to London last Friday to play the last match of the Swiss’s career with Roger Federer, a very emotional meeting in which the two friends burst into tears during the tribute that took place at the O2 Arena pavilion in the British capital.
