A professional “storm chaser” filmed and uploaded to his YouTube account the interior of the eye of Hurricane Ian, which made landfall this afternoon in Fort Myers, Florida shortly after 2: 00 pm local time.
Reed Timmer is a professional meteorologist and storm chaser who stars in some television documentaries “Storm Chasers” and also acted in the movie Glory Tornado.
Timmer has uploaded several videos to his Twitter account documenting the havoc that Hurricane Ian has been leaving in its wake. Florida, however, on YouTube showed the supposed eye of the storm.
Here are the images of Timmer inside the eye of Hurricane Ian:
In another video posted on Twitter, Timmer reported that he was documenting everything from Pine Island, the largest island on the Gulf coast of peninsular Florida in the United States, located in the county Lee, Southwest Florida.
“Reed you are an absolute beast!!!! Literally pumping out content right in the middle of a storm! You are taking it to a whole new level! People don’t really understand what it takes to get this released so fast,” said one user in the comments of the video app.
Here the images from Pine Island captured by Timmer:
The videos filmed by the storm chaser Reed Timmer have not been the only shocking ones uploaded to social networks; one in particular shows how a camera placed 6 feet above the ground on Fort Myers Beach captures the chilling moment Hurricane Ian engulfs a street with its powerful storm surge.
In the footage, it seems that it is a storm in the middle of the sea, however, it is a street that has been devastated by the impact of Hurricane Ian, a phenomenon that made landfall this afternoon around 2: 00 pm, precisely in Fort Myers.
Reports from the Meteorological Service indicated that the impact in Fort Myers registered winds of more than 550 miles per hour at the time of landfall and the hurricane will soon spread to the rest of the Florida coast.
