A Campbell County man won a $2 million prize playing a Virginia Lottery Scratch-Off that only cost him $20 dollars . The player, named James Mason, bought a ticket for the ‘Supreme Riches’ game at the One Stop Market store, on 1023 Main Street, in the town of Altavista.

“I was a bit stunned and shocked. It feels pretty amazing,” Mason told Lottery officials when asked how he felt when he won.

‘Supreme Riches’ is a scratch card game available through the Lottery. Virginia and offers prizes ranging from $20 dollars to $2 million.

The Virginia Lottery says this is the first jackpot ever claimed from this game, which means there are two more left than yet they have not earned. The chances of winning the first prize are 1 in 1,428,000. The chances of winning any prize of any amount in this game are 1 in 3.65.

Mason had the option to receive the entire sum of $2 million dollars in annual payments over 30 years or an option of a one-time cash payment of $1.25 million dollars before paying required federal and state taxes. The winner chose the cash option.

On the other hand, the One Stop Market store received a bonus of $000 thousand dollars from the Virginia Lottery just for selling the winning ticket.
