In the midst of Hurricane Ian in Florida, Satcha Pretto returned to ‘Despierta América’ after the accident and surgery that kept her out of the Univision morning show for almost 3 months.

Dressed in red, much thinner, without being able to wear heels, but with the same informative force as always, the beloved journalist returned to ‘The Happiest Little House on Hispanic Television’, after 2 months and 20 days, having undergone surgery, and still in rehabilitation.

To the rhythm of ‘Sopa de Carcol’, but this time without being able to dance, and in the middle of the hurricane in Ian in Florida, Satcha made his return, who was received with hugs by his companions, Karla Martínez, Alan Tacher, Raúl González and Carlos Calderón.

“There have been changes, you may have noticed that I am not wearing heels… I was off the air for 2 months and 20 days, today marks the 7th week of the operation, I am extremely grateful to God, to all of you for the support I have been given, each message, each flower, each gift that they have sent me has been very helpful, infinite support, ”Pretto began by saying and continued with her little greeting before going to the news.

“You are going to see some changes, I cannot wear heels, my rehabilitation continues for several weeks, but I am here with all the enthusiasm to inform you, and to do what I like the most to work in this beautiful house of ‘Despierta América’“, she said surrounded by her television family to go to what she promised, to inform us.

What happened to Satcha? As she herself shared at the time, on July 7, the last day we saw her on ‘La Casita Happiest de la Televisión Hispana’ reporting, the beloved journalist accompanied her children Bruce and Alana to their game when, being part of an activity, minutes from going home, a fall made her end up in an emergency room with severe pain in her right knee. After several plates, the diagnosis was a tear of the anterior cruciate ligament and of the collateral and lateral ligation.

“I will need surgery and a lot of therapy and I will be absent from ‘Despierta América’. It’s nothing serious but I ask for your prayers“, she said at the time, on her social networks, without imagining that what caused her so much pain, and had her under painkillers, would get even more complicated.

Despite the fact that the solution was immediate surgery, the Honduran journalist had to wait almost a month to enter an operating room, since her doctor decided that it was better to strengthen the knee with rehabilitation beforehand.

“Thank God the operation was a success! The doctor repaired the anterior cruciate ligament as well as some minor issues with the menisci. The medial collateral ligament tear and a minor lateral collateral ligament tear appeared to heal on their own. I greatly appreciate his prayers, the great medical team and the pre-rehabilitation team for their support. At home the little ‘doctors’ Bruce and Alana take care of me so that I can return to 100% to ‘Despierta América’“, Satcha shared one day after finally, in August, having entered the operating room.

Everything did not end there, with her willpower, discipline and example, she continued with her rehabilitation which, as she herself shared in this long-awaited return, does not end, but, at least, it already allows you to meet with your audience again to continue informing.
