what-to-include-in-your-hurricane-emergency-kit-with-items-you-have-around-the-house

Hurricane Ian impacted the territory of Florida with winds of up to 126 miles per hour shortly after 2: 00 pm in Fort Myers, according to the Weather Service, so the coasts and several counties will soon be affected by rain.

And although Ian is already in the country, it’s never too late to prepare for a hurricane, especially if the winds and rains begin to feel in your county.

A simple way to prepare for hurricanes is to make or restock an emergency kit, but what should it include?

What should you include in your hurricane emergency kit?

Your kit should include items that will help keep you safe and healthy if you lose power during the storm or if you have to evacuate your home .

You probably already have many of the items in your house, but if it’s not too late, you may need to buy some things. Once you have all the items for your kit, make sure you put them all in one place.

To help make packing your emergency kit easier, we’ve compiled a list of items you shouldn’t include, according to ReadyNC.gov.
