The Brazilian authorities are investigating the Argentine attacker Lucas Delgado and two colleagues from Botafogo in Ribeirao Preto for their alleged responsibility in the rape of a woman in a hotel in Rio de Janeiro.
This Thursday official sources reported that the Sao Paulo club has decided to terminate Delgado’s contract, and preventively sanction Eduardo Hatamoto and Joao Diogo, while the investigations are completed.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Monday, in the midst of the celebrations of the Botafogo-SP club after confirming its promotion to the second division of Brazilian soccer.
The soccer players went to celebrate in a nightclub in Rio de Janeiro, and there Delgado met a young woman with whom he later went to the hotel.
In interviews with the Globo group, it was learned that the victim consented to have sexual relations with the Argentine player, but complained that he did not use a condom.
In his testimony he detailed Hours later, Delgado’s other two companions entered the room and physically and verbally assaulted her. In addition, they forced her to have sex with them.

The Rio Civil Police has opened an investigation to clarify the case, which is under judicial secrecy.
In a note, he indicated that a group of agents went to the hotel to talk with the hotel workers and request the images from the security cameras.
For his part, the victim was subjected to a corpus delicti examination, according to the information.
The Botafogo of Ribeirao Preto reaffirmed in its statement “its repudiation to any and all forms of violence and harassment, especially against women”, and that “will contribute to the verification of the facts and responsibilities abilities”.
