Officials from the Honduran Police Directorate of Investigations (DPI) captured an alleged member of the criminal gang known as Mara Salvatrucha (MS-12), for assuming him responsible for the crime of murder.
According to the police report released by the Honduran National Police, the alleged murderer of 31 years old, is a native and resident of the municipality of San Pedro Sula, the same place where the arrest took place.
The authorities reported that the police action was carried out specifically in the El Benque neighborhood , of the aforementioned municipality, by agents of the Department of Search, Location and Capture.
“According to the judicial document, the detainee is being prosecuted for being responsible for the murder of Maynor Adolfo Benítez Rivera”, the report details.
This arrest warrant was issued last 12 May this year , by the Criminal Court of First Instance of San Pedro Sula, Cortés.
“The criminal act was reported last 24 December of the year 31, in the Municipal neighborhood, in the municipality of San Pedro Sula”, explained the Honduran authorities.
The DPI will refer the alleged perpetrator to the corresponding Court to continue with the legal procedure.
