Tom Brady, quarterback of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and one of the best players in the history of the NFL, joined the donations this Thursday to support those affected by Hurricane Ian who live in Florida.
“Fortunately we can return home for this Sunday’s game (against the Kansas City Chiefs), but many people in Florida will not be able to do the same. To start, I will make a donation to the Florida Disaster Fund and I hope the rest of the NFL family in our state will do the same“Brady wrote on his Twitter account.
In addition, the Glazer family, owners of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, announced that they will donate a million dollars to support associations that help the most affected people.
The Buccaneers traveled to Miami to train this week due to the alarm over the arrival of Hurricane Ian and the NFL considered changing hosts the week 4 game against the Chiefs, initially scheduled to be in Tampa.
Finally, the Tampa area will avoid “the most serious consequences” of the hurricane, for which the encounter was will play at the Raymond James Stadium in the city of Florida, reported the NFL.
Ian lost strength in his transit through downtown Florida on Wednesday night and became a tropical storm this Thursday morning, but again its winds have reached hurricane strength.
According to the NHC, Ian is moving now in a north-northeast direction at 17 km per hour with maximum sustained winds of 120 km/h, that is, a category 1 hurricane according to the Saffir-Simpson scale.
On the forecast track, Ian will approach the coast of South Carolina this Friday and, between Friday night and Saturday, its center will move further inland through of the two Carolinas.
