two-possible-fatalities-would-have-left-ian's-passage-through-florida,-according-to-first-balance

This Thursday, the Governor of Florida, Ron DeSantis, confirmed the death of two people in the midst of the impact of Ian in the state, however, he did not affirm that they are directly linked to the hurricane.

DeSantis described the cyclone as something “historic” as well as the damage caused.

Likewise, he said that it is still premature to count the number of deaths and that the authorities would be evaluating the circumstances of the two possible deaths of these people because of Ian.

“ We have had two unconfirmed deaths, in the sense that we don’t know if they are related to the storm. Our guess is that they probably are,” DeSantis said during a press conference from Tallahassee.

The governor warned of the effects that will continue to be felt throughout the day in the northeast of the state, as well as in Georgia and South Carolina, where the governors have declared a state of emergency due to the arrival of Ian, the fifth most powerful hurricane to hit the US

Ian, today downgraded to a tropical storm but still has the ability to affect after its passage; made landfall this Wednesday in southwestern Florida with winds of about 240 kilometers per hour.

Given the damage that left Ian, the US president, Joe Biden, will approve a declaration of a disaster area on the Florida territories that were affected, this in order to increase federal aid.
