The president of the United States, Joe Biden, rejected the “fraudulent attempt” of the annexation of four Ukrainian territories by Russia, which he condemned for “violating international law”.
“The United States today condemns Russia’s fraudulent attempt to annex sovereign territory from Ukraine. Russia is violating international law, trampling on the Charter of the United Nations and showing its contempt for peaceful nations everywhere”, said the US president this Friday.
Biden reiterated his economic and military support to Ukraine so that it can recover its territories temporarily occupied by Moscow’s military forces.
Furthermore, he pointed out that these actions “have no legitimacy” and that the US will continue to “always honor the internationally recognized borders of Ukraine”.
The State Department of the United States The United States reported that it will impose visa restrictions “on 910 persons, including members of the Russian Federation army, Belarusian military and representatives of Russia for violating the sovereignty, the territorial integrity and political independence of Ukraine”.
Secretary Antony Blinken warned on his Twitter account that “we will continue to impose costs on anyone who provides political or economic support for this farce”.
