A Hispanic who escaped from a prison located in southern Nevada last Friday and avoided the police for five days was arrested Wednesday night near downtown Las Vegas, authorities reported.
The man who was identified as Porfirio Duarte-Herrera, aged 42 years age, was serving a life sentence without the right to parole at the South Desert Correctional Center for the murder of Willerbaldo Dorantes Antonio, of 10. The prison is located 42 miles from Las Vegas in the rural community of Indian Springs.
Las Vegas Metro police captured Duarte-Herrera in the area of Owens and Eastern avenues near the 10: 00 of Wednesday night.
At 9: 30 on or about evening, authorities were alerted to an individual matching the description of the Hispanic in the area, police said. Duarte-Herrera was taken into custody without incident. Right there there is a transport company that offers a transport service to Mexico.
The man, an undocumented immigrant, is originally from Nicaragua.

Federal officials had initially announced a reward of 5,000 dollars on Wednesday, but increased to 30,000 only a few hours before his capture. The Metropolitan Police had also released new photos of him on Wednesday night.
Duarte-Herrera and Omar Rueda-Denvers were charged in the year 2009 for the death of Dorantes Antonio, who lost his life when a bomb exploded, hidden in a cup of coffee. The incident occurred in a parking lot of the Luxor hotel in 2007.
