José González, a resident of Philadelphia, pleaded guilty to selling massive amounts of cocaine mailed from Puerto Rico to communities in his hometown, as well as in southern New Jersey.

Federal prosecutor Philip Sellinger announced that González, aged 50, pleaded guilty in federal court in Camden, NJ ) of conspiring to distribute cocaine for a drug trafficking organization that purchased more than 100 kilograms in Puerto Rico and then shipped it to residences in Philadelphia and South Jersey.

His role in this organization was between March 2019 and August 2020. According to prosecutor Sellinger, González flew several times from the Philadelphia International Airport to San Juan, where he and others purchased cocaine from drug suppliers.

González and the others then allegedly shipped the cocaine by overnight delivery using the US Post Office (USPS).

Prosecutor Sellinger said that agents seized more than $120,000 dollars in cash during a raid on Gonzalez’s residence in Philadelphia and a 9mm pistol from an auto garage he operated in that city.

Now González faces a minimum of 10 years of imprisonment on the drug conspiracy charge and a possible maximum sentence of life in prison, along with a fine of up to $10 million dollars, reported the radio station 92.7wobm. It will be sent Sentenced on January 30, according to a statement from the Department of Justice.
