Using a pipe, a man smashed the windows and lights of an NYPD patrol car that was parked on a Midtown Manhattan street in broad daylight with utter brazenness.

The suspect, identified by police as Uchechukwu Godwin, aged 23, used a metal pipe to repeatedly hit the patrol car parked on Broadway near West 36th Street around 11: 36 Wednesday am, according to police and video footage posted on Twitter.

As the destruction unfolded, pedestrians walked on the sidewalk and cyclists circulated in the street, apparently unfazed by the violence that has become a daily occurrence in New Y ork.

Godwin was arrested a block from the scene a short time later, reported New York Post. He was charged with criminal mischief, obstruction of government administration, carjacking, criminal possession of a weapon and disorderly conduct, police said. The suspect had previously been arrested for grand theft, criminal mischief and graffiti, according to law enforcement sources.

In a similar case, in March of this year, also in Midtown West, a woman with a striking orange wig was caught brazenly throwing a cement block at the window of a parked taxi and then entering the vehicle to steal an iPhone and cash in broad daylight.
