A woman from North Carolina bought a ticket the day before her 68 birthday and ended up winning a prize of $162,826 dollars.
Katherine Robinson of the Town of Apex told Lottery officials in Education from North Carolina that her love of the game of bingo was what led her to purchase a ‘Big Bucks Bingo Fast Play’ Scratch-Off ticket at the Publix store on Kelly Road.
The ticket that gave him the prize of more than $160 thousand dollars cost him only $ dollars to Robinson.
“ What a great birthday present,” Robinson said. “I got so excited I couldn’t even believe it.”
Robinson said she has her mom to thank for choosing that game. “When I was a teenager, I used to go to bingo games with my mother. I’ve always liked to play bingo, it’s a lot of fun”, said the lucky winner.
Robinson said that the money will allow him to buy new windows for his house.
