Federal judge Daniel R. Domínguez sentenced Carlos Rafael Rosario to 25 years in prison this Friday for committing two carjackings, and murdering during one of them an Uber Eats driver.

Rosario testified that on August 6, 2019 he snatched a Ford Transit car from 2017 to an Uber Eats driver, whom he stabbed multiple times with a knife, and killed him, according to the statement from the Federal Prosecutor’s Office.

The convicted person also acknowledged that the 22 July 2019, stole a Mitsubishi Outlander from a female victim.

“The United States Attorney’s Office and our partners in law enforcement will continue to work tirelessly to ensure that those who threaten our communities with senseless acts of violence face the consequences of their actions,” said W. Stephen Muldrow, United States Attorney for the District of Puerto Rico.

Muldrow congratulated the Puerto Rico Police Office and the FBI for their “excellent work in bringing Rosario to justice.”

The FBI and the office of the Puerto Rico Police conducted the investigation, and Deputy United States Attorney Alexander Alum took charge of the case.
