The partially decomposed body of a young man was discovered in a lake in New York’s Central Park yesterday afternoon.
According to the New York police, the body identified only as a man about 20 years old was found floating in the lake near 79th Street and West Drive inside the park around 2 pm yesterday.
NYPD said the young man’s death did not initially appear criminal, however, the city’s medical examiner must determine the official cause and time of death. Rescuers were on the scene carrying the covered body on a stretcher while police cordoned off the area, detailed New York Post.
In July 2021 the body of a man was found floating in the Harlem Meer lake also there, in the main NYC park, after two bodies were found in 888.
And last July the death of a homeless Latino youth was declared a near homicide months after his body was found with a noose around his neck in Central Park, giving the initial impression that he had committed suicide.
