A time-lapse video shows the moment Hurricane Ian uproots a house in Fort Myers, Florida, which ends up floating in the water.

The images were captured by the hunter of storms Max Olson on Wednesday.

In the recording, shared on his YouTube channel, it is seen how the waters of the system drag the residence until it is swallowed.

Fort Myers, a city of little more than 86,000 inhabitants, is one of the areas most affected by the hurricane that made landfall as a category 4 on Wednesday.

In the city, the floods have affected hundreds of homes and have left dozens trapped waiting for being rescued.

Joe Fernandez, a motorcycle builder, told USA Today that he decided to stay in the Cape Coral-Ft. Myers to help their neighbors, some of whom are immigrants who are afraid to ask the authorities for help.

“I am young. I can swim. I can stay behind,” he indicated. “There are a lot of older people here who were living the American dream… A lot of those people can’t go anywhere, because they don’t have anyone,” he added.

The resident of 31 years questioned that the authorities have not verified the situation in the area where it is located.

“This is not fair. This is bad. This is really wrong. Please, I mean, it’s going to be three days. No one has come to check on these people,” he insisted. “These people ate yesterday because we cooked. These people drank water yesterday because we brought water”, he pointed out.
