“if-you-are-two-races-without-a-podium,-some-want-to-kick-you-out”:-checo-perez-attacked-the-press-after-winning-the-singapore-gp

The Mexican driver of the Red Bull team, Sergio “Checo” Pérez, achieved his fourth victory in Formula 1 this Sunday by finishing in first place at the Singapore Grand Prix.

Pérez affirmed that achieving his second first place of the season is super important to silence the critics of the press.

In declarations with the EFE Agency, Pérez assured that sometimes the media are unfair with his performance.

“I am super happy with this victory, it is a super important victory for me, because this victory ends a losing streak in recent races, and some of the media in Formula One magnify everything. Maybe because I’m Mexican, but if I stop being on the podium twice in a row, they say that Red Bull has to kick me out and stuff like that,” “Checo” told EFE.

Then it will ring the national anthem of Mexico on the podium of the Marina Bay circuit, several Mexicans sang “Cielito Lindo” to Pérez.

“It is not a vindication, nor a reminder for anyone of how good I am; or anything like that. But it’s nice to win and do it with these kinds of performances. I am following my path and that is what I am going to continue doing: work hard and look forward”, concluded Pérez.
