The Mexican Red Bull driver, Sergio “Checo” Pérez took first place this Sunday in the Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix.

In what he qualifies as the best race of his life, the Mexican crossed the finish line at the Marina Bay circuit ahead of Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc, who was second, and the Spaniard Carlos Sainz, in third place.

“Checo” celebrated the fourth victory of his career in Formula 1, while his teammate and current leader of the competition Max Verstappen finished in seventh position.

Verstappen, who celebrated his twenty-fifth birthday on Friday, will have his second opportunity to sentence the World Championship mathematically next weekend, at the Japanese Grand Prix, which will be held at the Suzuka circuit, owned by Honda, the motorcyclist of his team.

The two McLaren drivers, the English Lando Norris and the Australian Daniel Ricciardo, finished the race in fourth and fifth position, recovering fourth place in the Constructors’ World Championship from Alpine for their team.

Canadian Lance Stroll (Aston Martin) finished sixth, ahead of Verstappen and his partner, the German Sebastian Vettel.

The seven-time English world champion Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) and the Frenchman Pierre Gasly (Alpha Tauri) also entered the points, finishing ninth and tenth.
