A man has been accused of shooting his twin brother to death outside a hotel in Portland, Oregon.
Martre Oliver was detained by US Marshals Tuesday night in Renton, Washington, after his brother, Martese Oliver, was found dead outside a hotel on Sunday, the Portland Police Bureau said in a statement.
Martre, of 26 years old, was charged with second-degree murder and unlawful use of a weapon, added Portland Police.
According to the authorities, Martese was found just before 3: 30 am local time early Sunday morning outside the Howard Johnson Hotel in Sumner, Portland. Investigators said he died at the scene and a medical examiner ruled his death a homicide.
Talking with FOX 12 Oregon, a neighbor, identified only as Brenda, told the outlet that she was home when the shooting occurred. “She was asleep,” she said. “I heard a couple of shots, and then I heard a car drive away.”
Brenda said she then went upstairs to ask her granddaughter if she had heard the shots.
“I told her: ‘Did you hear something?’ “, She told the medium. “She’s like, ‘Someone just fired a few shots and walked away.'” Then a few minutes later [there were] police cars everywhere.”
Authorities did not release details about what led up to the shooting.
