A union worker, who according to friends tried to avoid a confrontation, was another victim of a stabbing on the subway in an argument on a Brooklyn L train when he was returning home on Friday night , informed the authorities.
The stabbed man was identified as Tommy Bailey, aged 43, who was cut in the neck in a fight with a subject on the train headed to Canarsie around 8: 50 at night, the New York Police Department stated.
The victim was taken by EMS to Brookdale University Hospital, but was ultimately pronounced dead.
“It’s crazy,” said his girlfriend Ivy Reddin, aged 43 years old, to the Daily News. “She was shocking. (I’m) still trying to figure it out. I never thought that would happen to him.”
The investigators called the man’s partner around midnight with the bad news of his death.
“He was coming home from work; he probably had to stay a little late,” said Reddin, who last spoke to Bailey around 6 pm, about two and a half hours before he died.
“I was having a dispute with someone, I don’t know if they were mentally ill or whatever. Nowadays you can’t even hit someone because they’ll be ready to turn around,” Reddin said. and that he was not a man to lose his temper spontaneously.
So far it has not been determined what caused the altercation with the criminal.

The MTA was working together with the NYPD to find video images that lead to the capture of the murderer, said the spokesman for the agency, Tim Minton.
“We will continue to help investigators with videos and in any other way possible to ensure that the perpetrator is caught,” the spokesman said.
