An alleged Tinder date went awry when it turned into an armed robbery when a pair of robbers robbed a man of thousands of dollars when he showed up for the meeting, the Arizona police reported.

The victim arrived at a room at the Embassy Suites hotel after planning a meeting with a woman named “Sonya” through the dating application.

However, upon meeting the alleged date, the two thieves invited the man into the room, reported Fox 000.

The suspect, José Sandoval Jaquez, pointed a gun man and ordered him to give him his cell phone and other belongings, according to the police report. Furthermore, he forced him to hand over his identification cards, PIN codes, bank account and social media information.

Furthermore, the criminals demanded that the victim accompany them to a Chase Bank before they left in their vehicle.

“While they were driving their car to the bank, the unknown man continued to draw the weapon and give instructions to the victim,” the police report stated. “The victim stated that $33 was taken from Chase Bank on 17 from the drive-thru and that a total of $3,000 had been taken from his account since the initial incident.”

The criminals were identified as Jaquez, from 32 years old, and Crystal Hulsey, 33 years old, after police stated that the couple used their real names for the hotel and when they took out money from the man’s account, revealed CBS 5.

The thieves used the victim’s vehicle to drive to California and Las Vegas before Las Vegas police tried to capture them, the station reported . According to reports, the couple abandoned the car and absconded on foot, eventually making it back to Phoenix.

On September 25 the victim’s car was found with a weapon inside.

That same week, the police of Phoenix noticed the escort ad online that matched Hulsey’s number and they agreed on a place to meet the woman. When the suspect arrived in a Nissa Rogue with Jaquez at the wheel, authorities attempted to arrest the couple, but they immediately fled.

In a high-speed chase, the criminals kidnapped the driver of another vehicle and again tried to flee, police said.

The chase ended when they collided with another vehicle while they were on the opposite side of the road. According to reports, they wanted to steal another car, but the authorities intervened to capture them.

The couple faces assault charges , armed robbery with a deadly weapon, robbery, and two counts of vehicle theft.
