Although Latino voters say that Democrats care more about the problems of the Latino population, they also support certain issues on Republican agendas, which makes it difficult for both parties to attract that vote.
“Around 71 % say that the Democratic Party works hard for the votes of Latinos, the 63% says he ‘really cares about Latinos’ and the 60 % say that the Democratic Party represents the interests of people like them”, indicates a recent report by the Pew Research Center.
Hispanics/Latinos spoke about the country’s economic situation, which is the issue that most worries them (71%), in addition to of how they see their future.
The report also lists other concerns of these voters, especially focused on economic issues, although the right to abortion emerges as a key issue.
Jens Manuel Krogstad, senior editor at Pew, tells more details about the survey and what differences there have been from other reports.
