Authorities are searching for six people who they believe are witnesses to the recent crime of dismembering a woman and stuffing her into suitcases in her Brooklyn apartment, the New York Police Department reported.

The victim identified as D’Asia Johnson, aged , was found in two suitcases in the apartment of Linwood St. near Atlantic Ave. in Cypress Hills last 21 September, according to officials.

NYPD officers arrested Johnson’s boyfriend on Sunday who had a warrant out for his arrest in Nassau County.

Later turned over to Nassau County authorities sources said.

Apparently, the victim suffered from domestic violence that led her to place a restraining order against her boyfriend.

According to a friend, a neighbor of Johnson, the boyfriend frequently hit her in the hallway where the woman lived.

“she broke his ribs, his legs, a couple of months ago,” Stephanie Harris said after Johnson was discovered. “She came back, she was on crutches. And she broke her apartment, she broke the televisions in her apartment. And I yelled at him, like ‘Listen, I don’t want to see you on the news.'” continued Harris, aged 33 years old.

The victim had been missing for several days when the mutilated body was discovered after the neighbors complain about a bad smell.

Police sources said that before taking the terrible discovery, the victim’s partner left the apartment building with a duffel bag in the company of a friend.

The knife used to commit the crime was found near her body.

The New York Police Department published on Sunday the photo of five women and a man who they believe may collaborate in the capture of Johnson’s murderer.
