A pair of glasses used by killer Jeffrey Dahmer in prison will be put up for sale for $80,000 dollars.
A root From Netflix’s most recent revival of gory, true-crime mysteries, the latest of which is “Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story,” “cult memorabilia sales” have skyrocketed.
Now , despite strong backlash from the families of his victims, Dahmer’s cannibalistic crimes have been unearthed once again, sparking insane interest.
Taylor James, of Cult Collectibles in Vancouver, Canada, told TMZ that he had obtained the glasses belonging to the Milwaukee killer from the former Dahmer’s father’s housekeeper.
Various other items for sale include documents and correspondence from lawyers, family photos, bibles and cutlery from his apartment, although many are already sold out, but you can see the rest HERE.
Now James is willing to part with the glasses, but for an amazing price.
Speaking to the media, Taylor said that earlier this year he took a private sale of other Jeffrey glasses to a high-profile bidder.
Jeffrey Dahmer was jailed for life in 1992 after being found guilty of 16 murders. However, it didn’t last long, as a fellow inmate beat him to death.
He was seen wearing aviator-style glasses when he was incarcerated, the same style worn by Evan Peters, who plays Dahmer in the new version of the murderer’s story on Netflix.
The drama, despite reaching massive ratings, has been rejected by many for being insensitive to the families of the victims and its heartbreaking images.
Furthermore, many of the 16 children and young people murdered by Dahmer were Afro-American and homosexual.
Attorney Preston Mitchum tweeted: “I turned on this Netflix series for 14 minutes and turned it off. I couldn’t see this trauma.”
“Jeffrey Dahmer was able to kill so many people for so long because his victims were mostly black gay men, especially those trying to make ends meet,” he added.
“Now, people are romanticizing who he was, like they do with all white serial killers. He is disturbing and disgusting,” he concluded.
