xavi-hernandez-after-fc-barcelona's-defeat-against-inter-milan:-“i'm-outraged,-the-referee-should-give-explanations”-[video]

FC Barcelona manager Xavi Hernández attended a press conference after Tuesday’s defeat against Inter Milan in the UEFA Champions League and complained about the referee’s performance which, in his opinion, was transcendental in the match .

Xavi was outraged by a couple of controversies in the match when he saw how in the first place the VAR annulled a goal by Pedri during the development of the match and already in injury time a hand by Denzel Dumfries was not sanctioned as a maximum penalty.

“I am outraged, the referee should explain why he has not awarded it (the Dumfries penalty). He has not given them to me. That’s why I think it’s unfair“, he said as soon as the meeting ended in a meeting with the media.

Regarding the game, Xavi Hernández spoke about the multiple chances they had facing the rival goal, but in the end they were not given the chance to score.

“At the beginning it cost us circulation, but in the second half we improved. We wanted to attack the spaces. We have generated more than them, but we have not managed to score. We have to criticize ourselves, we still have three finals left and we’re going to try for sure”, he commented on the three remaining games of the group stage in the Champions League.

This Tuesday’s defeat complicates qualifying for the round of 16 in the continental competition and places next week’s match again against Inter, at the Camp Nou, as almost definitive for FC Barcelona.
