president-of-the-mexican-football-federation-on-the-continuity-of-tata-martino:-“it-will-be-seen-after-the-world-cup”

The continuity of Gerardo ‘Tata’ Martino on the bench of the Mexican national team has been a subject of constant debate in the soccer-loving community and now, after months of rumors, the president of the Mexican Soccer Federation ( FMF) Yon de Luisa gave clues about the future of the Argentine strategist.

According to Yon de Luisa’s words, DT Martino will remain in charge at least until the upcoming World Cup in Qatar 2022 and later an analysis will be made on the results to decide on its continuity.

“It is not an issue that we are going to see now, it will be something that will be seen after the World Cup . Each of the parties will put their story and a decision will be made; today we are focused on Qatar 2022“, commented the president of the FMF.

Asked about the multiple criticisms that Martino has received and about how he makes sure that these comments do not affect him, de Luisa appealed to the professionalism of the DT.

“I see it very well. Natural wear and tear is one thing, we are all human and if we experience a series of public criticism, it is normal to wear ourselves out. In this case we can be sad or worn out, but the reality is that she (Tata Martino) is a person with extraordinary ability, she has shown us over time.

Lastly, she revealed how her coexistence with Martino and how that has been able to help the national team he leads.

“What I have experienced with him is that he is a capable, congruent person and when he sits down to make decisions he does it as a team and that normally has an objective and forceful explanation”, concluded de Luisa.
