A victim was stabbed in the face when he tried to break up a fight at a Manhattan store, authorities said Sunday.

The 38 year old man was buying products in the store 600 Candy Grocery on W. 161st St. near Broadway in Washington Heights last October 22 when other people in the local business started arguing about Approximately 7: 10 at night, the police declared.

The dispute escalated and the store’s customers began to physically fight.

The victim tried to come between the two to calm things down , but one of the suspects exclaimed: “I hate Mexicans”, took out a knife and cut him in the face, the officials announced.

Despite the cut wound, the man’s face , the injured refused to receive medical assistance.

For its part, the hate crimes task force of the New York Police Department is investigating the incident.

New York authorities released a photo on Sunday of the suspect who cut the victim and are asking for help from the general public to find the whereabouts and subsequent capture of him.
