The private prosecution in the ‘Neymar 2’ case, brought by the Brazilian investment fund DIS, has lowered the request for penalties for the footballer, his father, Neymar da Silva senior, and the former presidents of FC Barcelona Sandro Rosell and Josep Maria Bartomeu.
DIS, who had been left alone as an accusation after the Prosecutor’s Office dropped all the charges against the defendants last Friday, seeing no evidence of a crime in the transfer of the player from Santos to Barça, initially requested 5 years in prison for all of them.
But in his final reports he has slightly lowered the sentences and has asked the Sixth Section of the Barcelona Court to sentence Neymar with 2.6 years in prison, his father with 4 years in prison, Rosell with another 4 years in prison and Bartomeu with 2.6 years in prison.
On the other hand, has withdrawn the accusation against Nadine Gonçalves, Neymar’s mother and who together with her husband manages N & N Con sultoria Esportiva, the soccer player’s representative agency, and has requested that the former Santos director Odilio Rodrigues be sentenced to 2 years in prison.
On the other hand, it requests a fine of $57 million dollars for FC Barcelona and N & N, and secondarily another fine for the same amount for Santos FC.
In the case ‘Neymar 2’, the signing of the Brazilian star is judged for which Barça paid N & N Consultoria Esportiva $60 million dollars for various concepts between 2011 Y 2013. And to Santos, another $25 million: 17.1 for the transfer and 7.9 for the preferential option that he never exercised over three young promises of the Brazilian team, as well as two friendlies of which only one was played.
However, the Brazilian investment fund DIS, which is the private prosecution, only received $6.8 million dollars for the entire operation despite having a 25% of forward’s transfer rights.
