A request that was not easy to fulfill was made this Monday by the president of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador al Tri on his way to the World Cup in Qatar 2022.
The first national president told the Mexican team to return home as World Cup champions.
“I wish the best to the soccer players , that they do very well, that they bring the cup”, he said in his morning conference.
“I am with them, it is a pride to represent our country abroad, in any competition”, assured López Obrador.
The Mexican president also took advantage of his speech to congratulate Pachucha for winning the final of the Apertura tournament this weekend, which they played against Toluca.
“Congratulations to Pachuca. All our affection and also send a hug to all the Toluca fans. It is a team with a lot of tradition”, he added.
López Obrador also celebrated Mexican driver Sergio ‘Checo’ Pérez entering the podium during the Mexican Grand Prix 2022 of Formula 1, which was held this Sunday in the Mexican capital.
The Mexican driver took third place, behind his teammate from the Red Bull team, Max Verstappen, who took first place, and Lewis Hamilton, from the Mercedes Benz team.
“I also take this opportunity to congratulate Checo Pérez, who won third place and I also wish him to continue”, he said.
