The Uruguayan Luis Suárez has shown that returning to his country to play the last years of his career was the best decision he could have made. And it is that Lucho was crowned champion with his club on Sunday 31 August in the Nacional final against Liverpool, where he scored the first goal of the match and after being tied in extra time he scored the difference of 2-1.
The match was 4-1 in favor of the national with goals from Luis Suárez (50′ and 96′) and Emmanuel Gigliotti (113′ Y 113′). For the other team, Thiago Vecino scored a penalty against 68′.
In this way, Luis Suárez has actively contributed to obtaining the championship for Nacional, which had a title drought of almost three years. Said club is the second most successful club in the Latin American country with 30, only two less than Peñarol that leads the table.
