A curious fact has been recorded in a lottery office in southern China, after the winner of a prize of 291 million yuan, that is, the equivalent to $30 million dollars, has decided not to tell his wife and son the good news for fear that they will become lazy.

The lucky lottery winner was identified only as Mr. Li, who was reported by the Nanning Evening News to have turned up at the lottery office in Nanning, Guangxi’s southern region, to claim his prize.

The man was wearing a bright yellow suit and asked the raffle organizers to cover his head in the photos showing how he is given the symbolic check that accredits him as the winner.

Regarding why he did not want to reveal his identity, he explained: “I did not tell him to my wife and son for fear that they would be too accommodating and not work or work hard in the future”.

The man indicated that he bought the winning ticket at a store in Litang, a city of about 120,000 inhabitants located east of the regional capital of Nanning. The day after realizing that he won, he drove to the largest city to present the ticket at the lottery headquarters.

“I only slept in a hotel because I was afraid to go out and lose my money. lottery ticket”, he added.

Regarding what he would do with his prize, he commented that he would donate a part to works of charity and the rest had not yet decided what he would invest it in.
