north-carolina-man-has-only-bought-two-lottery-tickets-in-his-life-and-the-second-one-gave-him-a-prize-of-$-250-thousand-dollars

A North Carolina man said a $250 thousand dollar scratch-off lottery ticket was only the second lottery ticket he had bought in his whole life.

The man, named Billy Pruett, aged 56 years old, from the city of Shelby, told North Carolina Education Lottery officials that the limited-edition ‘Mega Bucks’ scratch-off ticket he purchased at Harry’s Quick Shop, located across the street on Washburn Switch Road, was only his second lottery ticket.

Pruett’s beginner’s luck paid off with a $250 thousand dollar jackpot.

Pruett did not say if any prize was won in the first scratch-off lottery that bought in his life.

“My heart fell to my feet. I couldn’t sleep all night,” Pruett said, speaking about the moment he realized his ticket was worth hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Pruett said his plans to use the money include paying some bills, sharing with friends, and increasing your retirement savings.

“I am going to buy my girlfriend a great Christmas present now“, he said.
