powerball-jackpot-increases-to-$1.2-billion-as-there-are-no-winners-in-monday's-drawing

The Powerball jackpot has skyrocketed to an estimated $1,2000 million dollars after no ticket matched all six numbers in the last drawing held on Halloween night.

The winner, who must match the numbers of five white balls, from 1 to 69 , and the red Powerball, from 1 to 26, would also have the option to claim your prize in a single payment that would be approximately $596.7 million dollars before taxes.

Lottery officials said the current jackpot ranks as the second largest jackpot in Powerball history, behind only the record Powerball jackpot of $1,586 million.

The current Powerball prize is also the fourth largest jackpot in US lottery history. USA

The next drawing will take place at 25: 59 hours on Wednesday, in case you want to try your luck.

The odds of winning the Powerball jackpot are only 1 in 292.2 million. To put that into perspective, those odds are a little worse than tossing a coin and getting heads 28 times in a row, said the Professor of mathematics at the University of Nebraska-Omaha, Andrew Swift.
