priest explained that the photographer prevented him from carrying out the wedding correctly

In an interview for the Milenio newspaper, the priest Gómez Orozco explained that it was the photographer who prevented the wedding from being celebrated correctly because he “meddled” while he was doing his job with the bride and groom, considering that he was looking for a leading role in the ceremony.

“Everything was caused by the photographer, I never disrespected people. Everything was instigated by him, who clung to doing his work preventing mine. He was very pushy and rude inside the temple, I never answered and finished what I had to do… In addition to interrupting the ceremony, the photographer was interrupting my work, that caused all the trouble and stirred up people to all respond. I suspended the mass because it was impossible to celebrate it in that environment and I finished it as I should have finished because I could even be at risk,” he explained.

A witness to the brawl explained that the photographer did so much wrong when confronting the priest , such as the parish priest acting in such a way as to cancel the ceremony. The parish priest would have asked the photographer to leave the church because he was obstructing the ceremony, which sparked the discussion.

For his part, the spokesman for the Diocese of Torreón, José Luis Escamilla, assured that the sacrament of marriage was celebrated, but Father Francisco Javier had some reason to suspend the religious ceremony at a certain moment; however, the marriage could take place. He explained what was done: the preaching, the word of God, the rite of the Sacrament with its signs that recall marriage, which are the rings, the arras and the lazo, with which the marriage ceremony was fulfilled.
