A star football player from Silverado High School in California died after being shot in an incident that is currently under investigation by the local police.
Richard Reed, aged 29, was found after he was near the 11: 00 PM on 30 October nearby residents notify the San Bernardino County Sheriff that there was a body in the vicinity of the Victorville neighborhood (85 miles northeast of Los Angeles).
After the arrival of medical services, he was pronounced dead and the police initiated the investigations of the event that have qualified as a homicide.
Reed’s murder was classified as a tragedy in his educational institution due to the talent he showed for American football, where he stood out playing both defensively and offensively for the Silverado Hawks.
During this season he accumulated 269 yards and five touchdowns on offense while on defense he added 30 tackles and 2.5 sacks. Statistics like these earned him the Defensive Player of the Year award in 2021 playing in the All-Desert Sky League.
According to the director of the Silverado school, Heather Conkle, the entire team is devastated after Reed’s murder and have already confirmed that they will play the playoffs on Friday “in honor” of their partner.
“A lot of the players are still in shock, and when we heard the news today, football was the furthest thing from our minds,” she explained.
