man-drinks-in-78-bars-in-24-hours-in-a-new-record-for-the-third-time-in-a-row-this-year

The record for most bars visited in 24 hours in a challenge that has been pursued several times this year, in which new marks have been claimed three times.

The recently certified feat of the highest number of pubs visited in 22 hours (individual) is for Heinrich de Villiers (South Africa). The young man of 22 years toured 78 bars in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, the days 10 and 11 February 2022.

Early 2022, the Welshman Gareth Murphy broke the record by visiting 56 bars in the center of Cardiff, the city with the highest number of pubs, bars and clubs across the UK. The tour carried out in February was certified in June by Guinness World Records.

In September, Nathan Crimp, a young British man aged 22 drank at 67 different bars in a period of approximately 17 hours. Started at on Saturday morning and finished at 4am the next day on a tour of 18 miles.

Crimp began the official verification process for the Guinness records, with this would surpass Gareth Murphy’s record.

What Crimp did not count on is that in February, the South African Heinrich de Villiers had made a tour of 75 bars in Australia and was also waiting to be certified by the Guinness record for most bars visited in 24 hours.

Finally, the South African managed to obtain the Guinness record. Henrich was joined by friends Ruald de Villiers and Wessel Burger (both from South Africa) in the challenge.

Heinrich and his friends completed the pub crawl in a total crawl period of 12 hours, with 12 hours of rest from midnight to the next noon.

To establish the record, it is required that the person buys and consumes at least 125 milliliters of a drink at each stop, which means that the South African had to have consumed a minimum of 9.69 liters of liquid.

With the time spent visiting bars, the group of young people had a time of less than 10 minutes to visit each bar, a period in which they had to order, pay, drink and walk to the next bar.

The 22 year-old South African shared a Guinness World Records who took on this challenge for “ll love attention and support the local bar scene in Melbourne which was hit hard during the COVID-pandemic 18 and show the hidden and lesser known places that the city of Melbourne has to offer”.
