The wait is over. Major League Soccer (MLS) today announced the MLS Dream Team 2022, presented by Continental Tire. Only three Latin Americans appear: the Mexican Carlos Vela (LAFC) and the Argentines Sebastián Driussi (Austin FC) and Luciano Acosta (FC Cincinnati).

The Ideal Team recognizes the best soccer players in the league in each position, as voted by the media, players and coaches of MLS clubs. On this occasion, he represents six clubs and seven countries.

Carlos Vela made the MLS ideal team for the third time in five seasons. With 12 goals and 13 assists, the Mexican led Los Angeles FC to the championship final, which will be played next Saturday against the Philadelphia Union.

Driussi has just contributed 22 goals in the season, becoming the first player in history of the Austin to receive this honor. Acosta, who excelled with 13 assists this year, receives this recognition for the second time, after being chosen in 2018, when he was defending the DC United jersey.

The Philadelphia Union is the most represented team in the Ideal Team, with four players: the Jamaican Andre Blake, the Norwegian Jakob Glesnes, the German Kai Wagner and the Hungarian Daniel Gazdag.

The other members are Walker Zimmerman and the German Hany Mukhtar, from Nashville FC, and the Americans Jesús Ferreira, from FC Dallas, and Brandon Vázquez, from FC Cincinnati.
