Brazilian singer Anitta was recognized with the ‘Musical Innovator of the Year 2022’ award by Wall Street Journal Magazine. The interpreter of ‘Envolver’ received recognition from her good friend J Balvin and on her Instagram account she published a photo gallery of the moment along with a few words of thanks.
“Thank you @wsjmag and @kristina_oneill for naming me the Wall Street Journal Music Innovator of 2022. I can’t believe he is being recognized alongside these other amazing artists and pioneers. Thanks to my brother @JBalvin. I feel very honored that you came tonight. I am in awe of your talent and your generosity. You are one of my biggest inspirations and for you to finish a great tour and be here means a lot to me. Having you as my follower and confidant has been the greatest blessing. When I started out as a teenager, singing Brazilian funk music around Rio, I could never have imagined being in the Museum of Modern Art in New York with all of you. I hope that young women in my country and around the world can see themselves winning in life”, expressed the world-renowned artist in her text.
Anitta was recognized by this magazine due to the worldwide success that she had with her song ‘Envolver’, which got millions and millions of reproductions and a total viralization in the networks due to the sensual dance that the singer performed in that song and that millions of people replicated in the popular social networks. In addition, they recognized the work he did with his album ‘Versions of Me’, in which he sings in Spanish, English and Portuguese.
