Crocodile attacks near a river in India have left locals living in “constant fear”, according to a press report.

In an attack along the river Kali, in the Indian district of Uttara Kannada on Thursday, a crocodile plunged a man underwater while he was swimming, Newsroom Odisha reported.

Whether it is final rites or rituals that involve immersion while visiting a temple that is along the Kali River, many times they risk their lives by getting too close to the water or sometimes even entering the river for a short distance without knowing the current and the threat. of the crocodiles,” an official from the Haliyal Forestry Division told the newspaper at the time.

“The boards will alert the population about the possible presence of crocodiles in the area”, added the official.
