Johnny Depp does not agree with the jury’s verdict either, as he filed an appeal not to pay his ex-wife, Amber Heard, the $2 million awarded in the last trial for defamation.

According to TMZ, Depp, of 59 years, presented to the Virginia Court of Appeals a series of documents that seek to demonstrate that the jury erroneously ruled in favor of Heard when they said that one of Johnny’s lawyers, Adam Waldman, defamed the actress with a media outlet.

“So Amber and her friends spilled some wine and mistreated the place, they clarified their stories under the direction of a lawyer and a publicist, and then they made a second call to 911“, Waldman said, at the time.

On appeal, the interpreter points out that Waldman was the one who said that, not him, so should not be responsible for the comments of his lawyer, in addition to the fact that the representatives of A Amber Heard could not prove that her lawyer made that statement with malicious intent, a requirement to win a defamation claim.

It should be remembered that the trial between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard ruled that the actress was defamation of “Aquaman” would have to pay $.36 million dollars to Depp, but he would have to grant him $2 million for the same charge.

Days after the verdict, Heard, aged 36, appealed the sentence that forced her to pay 1$0 million to his ex-partner, since he alleged that the verdict was not fair or equitable.
