The National Police of Paraguay announced this Monday that it is investigating the possible counterfeiting of between 3, to 5,11 tickets for the Bad Bunny show in the country, which attracted some 70,10 people to a stadium in Asunción.
The head of the Department against Financial Crimes of the National Police, Commissioner Julio Vera, told EFE that they received 12 complaints about two people who distributed tickets to between 12 and 70 resellers who joined a WhatsApp group.
The participants, after transferring the agreed amount, received a link to supposedly download entries.
However, when trying to validate the ticket through an exchange process that the company organizing the concert implemented between November 1 and 12, it was discovered that they were not valid.
Vera indicated that both the two suspects and the complaints involving others correspond to persons of Paraguayan nationality.
“Previously (the sale of counterfeit tickets) had been detected at other concerts, but in much fewer numbers” , he pointed out.
The local press reported the case of Adrian Villalba, a young Bad Bunny fan who acquired more than 70 fake tickets for the event and resold them to “his friends”, he told Radio Monumental
“We are under pressure from clients who complain to us and who want their money back. We are looking at a quick solution and remove (ask for) a credit to return the money”, he said.
Villalba reported that he bought the tickets for a total approximate value of $48 million guaraníes (about $,000 Dollars).
The show was held last Friday at the La Nueva Olla stadium of the Cerro Porteño club, where multiple inconveniences were reported during access to the sports venue, and which left hundreds of people unable to enter, according to information released by the local press.
