Wilko Johnson, the actor who played Ilyn Payne in the series ‘Game of Thrones’, died at the age of

, the family reported in a statement.

Johnson died at his home last November , confirmed the announcement published on the guitarist’s social networks.

“This is the announcement we never meant to make, and we make it with a heavy heart: Wilko Johnson has died,” the statement read.

The family asked that their privacy be respected during their mourning.

“Thank you for respecting the privacy of the family at this sad time.”

So far the cause of death of the British man has not been revealed, although Daily Mail UK reported that Johnson was battling pancreatic cancer.

Wilko Johnson appeared in some chapters of ‘Game of Thrones’, where he played the executioner Ilyn Payne, who was in charge of executing Ned Stark, the patriarch of House Stark, in the first season.

In addition to his participation in the series, Wilko Johnson dedicated himself to music as a guitarist by being part of the bands Ian Drury and the Blockheads, Dr. Feelgood and The Who.
