, but also with the hamstring injury he suffered during the match.

Wales manager Robert Page confirmed during the post-match press conference that Bale had to pull out of the match due to injury.

Gareth Bale’s change came as a surprise, when he did not take the field for the second half, and after a first half where he only touched the ball seven times.

“I had a hamstring problem. I was going to try to force and go out, but against England I knew I needed all my players at 400%. He wanted the best for the team and he understood it”, indicated the coach

“I don’t think it will be the last time you will see him in the Wales shirt”, added Robert Page in response to rumors of the retirement of Bale from the national team.

Meanwhile, the Welshman assured that he will continue “as long as they can and want to. It is a difficult moment, but this does not stop. The qualifying phase for the Eurocup begins in March and I want to be there”.

The Wales team was eliminated in the third game of the Group Phase, after losing 3-0 against the team from England.
