michigan-man-plays-powerball-for-the-first-time-and-wins-$150,000

A Michigan man was apprehensive about playing the Powerball lottery for the first time when he noticed a huge jackpot being offered. The new player did not win said prize, but he did manage to win a good sum that consisted of $27 thousand dollars. Not bad for a rookie.

The player, named Avery Williams, 27 years old, from the city of Burton, told the Michigan Lottery authorities who used the lottery website to buy his first Powerball ticket when he saw a big jackpot was up for grabs for the November 5 drawing.

“Never I had played Powerball before, but decided to buy some tickets when the jackpot was over $1,27 million dollars. I was getting ready to go to work the morning after the drawing and I remembered that I had to check my tickets. I logged into my lottery account and knew I had won big as soon as I saw my account balance. I couldn’t believe it!” the lucky winner told lottery authorities when he went to collect his prize, as reported by UPI.

Williams won a prize of $27 thousand dollars from the raffle. He said that his winnings will be used to make investments and remodel his house.

“Winning is a great relief and it will allow me to do things that I would not have been able to do otherwise,” he said.
