A five-year-old girl is missing after her mother was found dead in her South Carolina home on Thanksgiving.
The police found the body of Crystal Jumper, years old, in an “advanced stage of decomposition” with an impact of bullet at a wellness check last Thursday.
Her daughter, Aspen Jeter, was not found anywhere in the house located in Orangeburg County.
“If you have any information about the whereabouts of this child Please let us know,” Sheriff Leroy Ravenell said in a statement. “You don’t have to give your name, just tell us what you know.”
Jumper’s family said they hadn’t heard from the woman for several weeks.
“At that location, officers found a deceased female who had not been heard from since November 1,” the sheriff’s office said.
Likewise, Jumper’s brother, Pauley Jumper, explained that his niece has abilities that make it difficult for her to communicate and walk.
“She can’t walk, she can’t talk. So everyone pray that we take her home, “he told the WIS-TV media outlet.
He stated that the family cannot process Crystal’s death until they know that her daughter is found and returned safely.
For her part, Steph Ball-Mitchell, a friend of the woman, recalled the proud mother sending her photos and videos of Aspen for several years.
“She’s such a beautiful girl,” Ball-Mitchell told WLTX. “It was really special to watch Aspen grow and change.”
He also pointed out the importance of getting the girl the help she needed.
“She definitely needs attention so we want to get the picture of her out of her,” Ball-Mitchell said. “If anyone has seen her, we definitely want people to call and tell us where they’ve seen her.”
Aspen’s father, Antar Jeter, is also missing, Crystal’s relatives told WIS-TV.
Police have not mentioned whether the father is considered the prime suspect, but a document in the case said he resided with Crystal and Aspen.
The mother’s autopsy It is scheduled for the next few days.
