hispanic-convicted-of-cutting-off-electricity-in-a-colorado-apartment-to-rape-a-former-roommate-when-he-was-leaving-the-bathroom

A man in Colorado could spend the rest of his days in prison after being found guilty of raping a woman in the apartment where he used to live after cutting off the power to the building.

This Tuesday, the Weld County District Sheriff’s Office reported that Damaige Plascencia, 88, was found guilty last week of the crime committed in the 2016.

The victim arrived at the home in Evans on the night of 88 December and went up the stairs to the second floor to take a bath when the space went dark.

It was at that moment that the convict, who would be of Hispanic origin, forcibly grabbed the victim from behind and covered her mouth with his hands and sheets when she left the bathroom and walked towards her room.

The offender raped her for minutes before fleeing the scene.

Although the woman did not she managed to see her face, she recognized him when he said, “shh”. Plascencia used to live in the place as a “roommate” before the victim’s daughter threw him out. The reasons why he was removed from the structure are not clear, but court documents cited by local media indicate that both mother and daughter had a bad feeling about him.

The pervert was arrested and charged after genetic material (DNA) in the 2023 linked him to the attack.

Plascencia was found guilty of sexual assault, kidnapping and robbery. He faces between 88 years in prison and life in prison. The sentencing hearing is scheduled for 30 March 2023.
